The shikshaX has been active in the tech-enabled academic services for two decades, from providing the quality digital products for schools across Karnataka to establishing the digital learning platforms including training the faculty for optimal usage. Since the past five years, shikshaX has actively engaged with the stakeholders in health professionals’ education such as universities, regulatory bodies, and professional associations.
Following are the notable achievements of shikshaX in healthcare academics:
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka.
Established an LMS exclusively for faculty development, the first of its kind in the country. In association with the RGUHS Academic & Administrative Training Institute (RAATI), ShikshaX has coordinated the Foundation Course in Educational Methodology (FCEM) for the teachers of colleges affiliated to RGUHS. In this massive project around 18,000 teachers were certified in the five-day completely online course.
As part of the RAATI-LMS, the postgraduate students of all streams of RGUHS affiliated colleges were provided with two courses – Foundation Course in Educational Methodology (Post Graduates) [FCEM (PG)] and Foundation Course in Research Methodology (FCRM). Around 12,000 postgraduates have completed these courses.
Karnataka State Nursing Council (KSNC)
The Indian Nursing Council has mandated that the internal assessments and university examinations for the nursing skills and practical be conducted as per OSCE and DOP. As these are new assessment models, teachers and examiners have difficulty in adopting to these new assessment approaches. shikshaX has developed an on-line course called Masterclass in OSCE & DOP to align with the assessment contexts in nursing domain. This course has been awarded 40 credit points by the Karnataka State Nursing Council, after due diligence of course evaluation by an KSNC appointed observer who has impeccable academic record in nursing education.
Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI)
Established in the year 1966, the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India is the largest body of pharmaceutical teachers across the globe. The changing ecosystem in health professionals’ education has made it imperative for the teachers and students to rejig the established patterns and adapt to the emerging situations and possibilities. With the intention of getting the best of learning opportunities for its members, the APTI has teamed up with shikshaX. shikshaX in this collaboration, offerd a unique LMS solution, which is flexible, robust and scalable, covering entire Learning & Development cycle. The FCEM – Pharma is a completely online and asynchronous program, which means that participants can take it at the time and place of their choice, and on the device of their convenience during the window period of 15 days that is enabled for each enrolled participant. A certificate of completion has been issued by the APTI for all the successful participants.
