The Foundation Course in Nursing Pedagogy (FCNP) is aligned with the Indian Nursing Council syllabus and equips MSc Nursing students and educators with pedagogical competence, competency-based strategies, active learning methods, and reflective practice skills, ensuring practice-ready graduates and sustained professional development in nursing education.

The FCEM – Pharma is a fifteen-day course that is delivered completely online, on multi-modular microlearning model. It has five modules –

  • Introduction to educational methodology
  • Learning outcomes
  • Instructional methods
  • Instructional media; and
  • Student assessment

These modules are rolled out on specific days as follows:

  • Day 1 – 2 : Introduction to educational methodology
  • Day 3 – 5 : Learning outcomes
  • Day 6 – 8 : Instructional methods
  • Day 9 – 11 : Instructional media
  • Day 12 – 15 : Student assessment.

Each of the module is designed as follows:

  • General objectives of the module,
  • Distribution of module under different sessions.
    • Objectives of each session,
    • Video-based short presentations for each session,
    • Slides for each session,
    • Transcript of the video lecture of each session,
  • Additional reading references for the module,
  • End-of-the-module quiz.

By the end of the Foundation Course in Nursing Pedagogy (FCNP), participants will be competent to:

  1. Integrate principles of educational methodology with clinical expertise to design learner-centred nursing education aligned with competency-based frameworks.
  2. Formulate and align measurable learning outcomes, teaching strategies, and assessment methods using constructive alignment and Bloom’s taxonomy.
  3. Design and deliver engaging instructional sessions employing active learning methods, appropriate instructional media, and digital microlearning tools.
  4. Develop and implement valid, reliable, and outcome-based formative and summative assessment strategies.
  5. Demonstrate reflective practice, metacognitive awareness, and situational responsiveness in classroom and clinical teaching contexts.
  6. Lead and sustain professional growth in nursing education through continuous self-evaluation, innovation, and adherence to regulatory standards of the Indian Nursing Council.
