First Aid

This module equips nursing students with essential first-response skills to manage common medical and trauma emergencies. Learners develop competence in basic CPR, wound care, bandaging, safe transportation, and emergency decision-making to preserve life and prevent complications until advanced care is available.

Health Assessment

Health Assessment trains students to systematically collect patient history and perform comprehensive head-to-toe physical examinations. The module builds confidence in identifying normal and abnormal findings, using inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation to support accurate clinical judgement and effective nursing care planning.

Basic Life Support / Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BLS/BCLS)

This module focuses on early recognition and immediate management of cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Students learn evidence-based CPR, airway management, and coordinated team response, enabling them to act swiftly and confidently during life-threatening situations in clinical and community settings.

Fundamentals of Prescribing

Fundamentals of Prescribing introduces principles of rational drug use, medication safety, dosage calculation, and legal responsibilities. The module strengthens nurses’ understanding of pharmacotherapy, reduces medication errors, and supports safe administration practices within collaborative healthcare teams and emerging extended nursing roles.

Palliative Care

This module emphasizes compassionate, patient-centred care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Students learn pain and symptom management, psychosocial and spiritual support, ethical decision-making, and communication with patients and families to improve quality of life across the continuum of care.

Facility Based Newborn Care (FBNBC) & Essential Newborn Care (ENBC)

FBNBC and ENBC focus on improving survival and wellbeing of newborns through evidence-based practices. Learners gain skills in immediate newborn assessment, thermal protection, breastfeeding support, infection prevention, and basic management of sick and at-risk neonates in facility settings.

Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illnesses (IMNCI)

IMNCI equips students to assess, classify, treat, and counsel for common neonatal and childhood illnesses using standardized national guidelines. The module strengthens clinical decision-making, early referral, and caregiver education to reduce preventable morbidity and mortality among children.

Paediatric Life Support (PLS)

This module prepares nurses to manage paediatric emergencies with age-appropriate life-support techniques. Students learn rapid assessment, airway and circulation management, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill infants and children, ensuring timely and effective emergency care.

Skilled Birth Attendant (SBA) & Safe Delivery App

This module strengthens competencies required for safe and respectful maternity care. Students learn SBA skills aligned with national guidelines and effectively use the INC Safe Delivery App to support evidence-based intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care decisions.
